Startled, I sucked in a quick breath. I was about to say hello when he stomped on one end of the skateboard, flipped it into the air, caught it by the tip, and said in a deep voice, “Hey.”
My eyes grew wide, and my heart knocked hard like it was trying to escape my chest.
